Correct, I was assuming the prompt being referred to in the question was the DCL prompt after the login: and password: prompts. NXTware Remote creates the users for its facility and stores the usernames and passwords created in the NXTware Remote User facility of the admin tool. These are used when you connect to the server to create and get files for your project in Eclipse. During a debug session, it is used as the correct username and password to get past the login and to the DCL prompt of ”$”. This brings up an interesting question as to whether you can modify the ”login:” prompt as well. I have not seen that and do not know if that is possible.

I m concerned that there may be a little mis-communication here. The ”login” prompt is usually ”Username:”. I would expect that NXTware remote triggers on the colon(:). You reference the ”$” prompt. This is the default DCL level prompt character and is followed by a space. Please clarify which prompt is being referenced here.

Since NXTware Remote is customized to each developer’s environment, each user’s login prompt is used by NXTware Remote to determine the completion of a remote operation requested by the developer. When commands are sent to NXTware Remote, the output is parsed so that error messages can be interpreted and displayed in Eclipse. If the login prompt is different than the default ”$”, the NXTware Remote server needs to know this value to determine when to stop parsing the output. Banners also need to be parsed or eliminated for NXTware Remote operations through modifications of sylogin.com or login.com.
